Li Auto says a supply disruption for Samsung's 29-inch 6K OLED screen will force it to deliver some new Li Mega MPVs with an LCD instead. Product line head Tang Jing announced it on Weibo on Monday, Nov. 2.
Who is affected
- Cars scheduled to come off the line from Nov. 10 to Dec. 17.
- That covers customers who locked their orders between Sept. 11 and Oct. 26.
- Those cars get the 29-inch 6K LCD from the Li L9 Livis, which Li Auto says offers the same software and features.
The fix
Samsung supply is expected to recover around year-end. From March 1, 2027, Li Auto will contact affected owners in delivery order for a free swap to the OLED screen. The front screen is designed to be removed on its own, and Tang says the swap takes just over 10 minutes. The replacement carries a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty, and affected owners also get a 3-year Mega service package.
OLED-Info says this confirms that Samsung makes the Mega's front display, which no other supplier currently offers. Li Auto did not say what caused the shortage.
Bad timing
The shortage comes as Mega deliveries pick up: more than 3,000 in October, up from 2,318 in September. The new Mega launched on Sept. 2 at 509,800 yuan.
