Roadster owners may get their own loop-the-loop. Elon Musk wrote on X on Oct. 17, 2026: "We will have a wild looping track (crazier even than Hot Wheels) at our Texas HQ where you can test out your Roadster," Not a Tesla App reported.

In the same post he said: "You will be able to ask the Roadster to perform any of the tricks shown autonomously, as it will be sentient."

From half a loop to a full track

At the Oct. 15 reveal, the Roadster drove up roughly half of an inverted loop, held on upside down with a fan-powered suction system that can pull up to 2 Gs, flipped itself upright with cold-gas thrusters and landed on its tires, Not a Tesla App reported. Every stunt was performed autonomously.

What we don't know

  • No timeline for building the track, and no specs, the Tesla Owners Club of Austin noted.
  • Which trims qualify: the Performance trim lacks thrusters, and the base Roadster won't have the ground-effect downforce needed to drive upside down, per Not a Tesla App.
  • Software: Tesla hasn't said what handled the stunts. Franz von Holzhausen has said the Roadster gets only a limited version of FSD.

Musk also teased future demos "flying over the Snake River or maybe Grand Canyon and landing on its wheels." Production starts in 2028, so owners won't be looping anytime soon. Related: Roadster reveal recap.
