America's best-selling Toyota is plugging into Tesla's charging network. All 2027 RAV4 plug-in hybrid models now have a built-in NACS charging port with DC fast-charging capability, Toyota says.
The port sits on the driver's side and lets owners use Tesla Superchargers without an adapter, Electrek reports. All PHEV grades include an 11 kW onboard AC charger. The sixth-generation plug-in system pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 321 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. The base SE trim offers up to 52 miles of electric range.
The plug-in RAV4 comes in SE, XSE, Woodland and GR Sport trims. Toyota's other 2027 change is a revised suspension for the Woodland, which raises ground clearance to up to 9.1 inches.
