Fastned has closed its third and last retail bond issue of 2026, raising €27 million from thousands of individual investors in the Netherlands and Belgium. The issue opened on Sept. 22 and closed on Friday, Oct. 30.
The numbers
- New investment in 2026 totals €92 million, Fastned's highest annual amount so far, compared with €79 million in 2025.
- electrive.net reports that outstanding retail bonds now total €364 million. The bonds pay 6% a year over a five-year term, and more than 13,000 retail investors have put money into the programme.
- Fastned has 452 fast-charging stations in nine European countries, with 70 under construction, almost double last year's number. It has built 46 new stations so far in 2026.
- electrive.net says each new station costs Fastned close to €1 million up front.
Business trend
In its Q3 2026 update, Fastned reported like-for-like charging-related revenue of €46.3 million, up 47% year on year, and gross profit of €37 million, up 44%. electrive.net notes that although the core business is increasingly profitable, expansion still eats up large sums. That is why retail bonds remain a key source of funding.
