Aberdeen now has a large ultra-rapid charging hub in the city centre. RAW Charging opened the Palmerston Road site on Oct. 5 with its partner Hubber, electrive reports. RAW describes it as Aberdeen's largest ultra-rapid hub to date.
The site
- 14 bays: ten at 150 kW and four at up to 300 kW, including two dedicated priority bays.
- Payment: contactless bank cards or compatible charging apps, with 24/7 customer support.
- Launch offer: EV Fleet World reported free charging during the launch week through RAW Rewards.
RAW says the hub is meant for local drivers and people passing through, and as an alternative to slower public chargers, especially for residents without off-street parking. «Fourteen ultra-rapid bays means drivers can add serious range rather than planning their day around charging», RAW Charging CEO Jason Simpson said.
The companies
RAW says its UK network now spans more than 500 sites. Its recent projects include a 20-bay hub at Sunderland AFC's Stadium of Light. electrive notes that Hubber was founded in 2024 by former members of Tesla's UK Supercharger team. Hubber focuses on high-power urban hubs, with access to sites and grid connections part of its model.
