The data behind robot training is drawing big cheques. GenRobot AI, a Beijing startup, has raised $100 million in a Series A+ round, TechNode and Robot24 report. The round closed in the third quarter and was disclosed on November 2.

Who invested

Strategic backers include SAIC Motor, Baidu, Shoucheng Holdings, Malaysia's Eastworlds and Galaxy General Robotics (Galbot). Financial investors include GL Ventures, CITIC Goldstone, CCB International and Huatai Zijin, TechNode says. Robot24 adds that the company was founded in May 2025, was previously backed by Ant Group, Didi and Momenta, and has not disclosed its valuation.

What it does

  • Capture: wearable recording systems capture video along with hand and body movements while people do household, manufacturing and logistics tasks.
  • Processing: its Matrix platform synchronises, cleans and labels the recordings for robot training and evaluation.
  • Scale (company claims): GenRobot told Robot24 it has gathered more than one million hours of data across thousands of skills and works with over 30 AI companies. It says its quarterly delivery of usable data has grown from about 100,000 hours to 1 million hours, and expects 10 million hours a quarter by 2027. Robot24 notes these figures have not been independently confirmed.

The money will go to data infrastructure, datasets for world models, robot evaluation systems and expansion overseas, according to Robot24.
