Grok Bot can now sit on the iPhone's Action Button. The official @bot account announced on Monday, Oct. 19, at 11:40 a.m. PT: "Set it as your iPhone's Action Button and press it to talk with Bot." One press starts a voice chat.

Why it matters: It gives the agent a one-press voice shortcut, similar to how Grok already works by voice in Tesla cars.

How to set it up

Per a follow-up @bot post:

  1. Use an iPhone 15 Pro or later (the Action Button is not on older models).
  2. Update the Grok Bot app to version 1.16.
  3. Go to Settings → Action Button, swipe to Shortcut, and choose Grok Bot → Start Voice Chat.

The demo video shows the call opening in the Dynamic Island with mute and hang-up buttons, TeslaNorth reported. The posts did not say whether every plan gets the feature or whether Android gets a similar shortcut.

The Tesla link

Musk quoted a post about the app the same morning, writing that "Grok @Bot might turn out to be your favorite employee." Earlier this month Grok Bot access was turned on in Tesla's Cybercab and Model Y fleet: Grok Bot comes to every Cybercab. Also see Grok Voice 3.0.
