Tesla dropped 25 places to No. 50 in Interbrand's Best Global Brands 2026 ranking. Interbrand said it had one of the biggest valuation declines in the whole list, losing almost 38% of its brand value. Autoblog gives the figure as 37.8%.
A hard year for car brands
Interbrand says automotive had the sharpest decline of any sector, and entertainment overtook it as the second most valuable sector. «Manufacturers are finding it increasingly difficult to translate innovation into meaningful differentiation», the consultancy said. Toyota, at No. 9, is still the top car brand but lost almost 20%.
Autoblog says only four car brands in the top 100 gained value: Ferrari (+14.7% to $17.7 billion, now No. 51), BYD (+4.5%), Kia (+2.7%) and Hyundai (+1.6%). Nine others fell.
The wider list
The total value of the top 100 rose 8.1% to $3.87 trillion. Nvidia was the fastest-growing brand, up more than 71%, and entered the top 10 at No. 6.
Interbrand's ranking is an estimate of brand value from the consultancy's own method. It is not the same as stock market value.
