Tesla China sold 67,829 vehicles wholesale in October, according to preliminary data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). Wholesale covers both cars delivered in China and cars exported from the Shanghai factory.
The numbers
CnEVPost reports that October sales rose 10.30% from a year earlier. They fell 28.88% from September, when Tesla China sold 95,366 vehicles. October was the lowest month since February, when the figure was 58,599.
Tesla China has sold 810,889 vehicles so far this year, up 21.42% on the same period of 2025. Third-quarter wholesale sales were 275,111.
Drive Tesla Canada says October was the 12th month in a row of year-on-year growth for Tesla China. It also notes that South Korea took about one fifth of Shanghai's exports in the first nine months of the year.
What is not known yet
The CPCA's first release does not split the total into domestic deliveries and exports. Drive Tesla Canada expects that breakdown later this week.
The wider market
CnEVPost says the CPCA puts October wholesale sales of passenger new energy vehicles in China at about 1.8 million. That is up 12% from a year earlier and up 8% from September. Tesla's month-on-month drop therefore ran against the wider market.
