Another Chinese EV brand is heading for British driveways. Li Auto will enter the UK market in autumn 2027 with a new car, the company said at the Paris Motor Show last week, Autocar reported on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026. Li Auto didn't name the UK model, but its head of international business, Nestor Wu, said the line-up will target family buyers with both fully electric and range-extender (REx) options.

"Families have different market needs. That's what we focus on and succeed in China, and we think it will work here," Wu told Autocar.

Europe first: the Li 6

The UK car will differ from the Li 6 (sold in China as the i6), the large electric SUV leading Li Auto's European push. It launches and starts deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2027, EV reported, with a spare-parts center in the Netherlands, roadside assistance and a customer call center due to start in December. Li Auto plans at least one new model for Europe each year from 2027 to 2029.

Wu said the 4,950 mm Li 6 will be priced to roughly match the BMW iX3, which starts at £53,250 in the UK. Li Auto's European site lists a 96 kWh battery, with rear-wheel drive (250 kW) rated at 640 km (398 miles) WLTP and all-wheel drive (400 kW) at 560 km (348 miles); 0-100 km/h takes 6.8 or 4.8 seconds. Autocar quotes 500 kW peak charging. Li Auto hasn't published European prices. It also showed the Megahome, the latest version of its Mega MPV, which comes in right-hand drive.

Why it matters

Li Auto is looking abroad as sales slow at home: it delivered 31,817 vehicles in September, down 6.3% from a year earlier, and 293,436 in the first nine months, down 1.2%, EV reported. In China's September NEV retail ranking from the CPCA, Li Auto dropped out of the top 10 while Tesla China rose to fourth with 64,837 sales, CnEVPost reported (our Tesla China September story).
