Tesla has pushed the estimated delivery window for new Model Y L Launch Series orders in the U.S. to January–March 2027 for all configurations, up from January–February, Sawyer Merritt posted on X on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026. Some existing orders now show February–April 2027, Tesla North and Not a Tesla App reported.
Tesla North checked the U.S. configurator for the default Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive Launch Series in Seattle, Los Angeles and New York ZIP codes and saw "Est. Delivery: Jan 2027 – Mar 2027". That build is listed at $61,990 with an EPA-estimated 332 miles of range and a $250 order fee.
Some early buyers are already waiting longer
Not a Tesla App said a reader who was due for mid-October delivery saw the date "pushed out 3 to 4 months," and similar posts have appeared online. At the same time, some Launch Series cars are already on the road: owner @cscarroll took delivery in South Florida last week after trading in a 2022 Model X, Not a Tesla App reported.
Tesla has not said why some orders are slipping while others deliver. The Model Y L is the long-wheelbase, six-seat Model Y with second-row captain's chairs; it reached U.S. showrooms in July.
