Tesla has ended referral rewards for new vehicle purchases in the United States and moved its US program to FSD (Supervised) subscriptions, Drive Tesla Canada and Teslarati reported on Oct. 30, 2026.
Under the old program, a referrer got a US$250 credit, and buyers got three months of FSD.
How the new FSD referral works
- The FSD (Supervised) Referral Program launched on Oct. 29.
- A friend who uses your code gets a free month of FSD (Supervised).
- If the friend then subscribes, the referrer gets a free month. Owners who already own FSD outright get a US$99 credit instead.
- Each code can be used 12 times a year. The count resets on Jan. 1.
In the US, referrals now cover only FSD and Tesla Energy products such as Solar and Powerwall. Loyalty benefits for repeat buyers stay in place.
Drive Tesla Canada said pending vehicle referrals briefly disappeared from the Tesla app. They were then restored for cars that have not yet been delivered. Canada's vehicle referral program continues everywhere except British Columbia.
The reports said 75% of Tesla's Q3 deliveries came with an FSD subscription, which helps explain the shift. The new program builds on the referral codes we spotted in Tesla app 4.62.
