Tesla is adding another Gulf market. On Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, EVwire reported that Pawel Trzpis, Tesla's Market Lead for the Middle East, posted on LinkedIn that Tesla will officially enter Oman in 2027 and is "building our team from the ground up." The post is the first clear public timeline for a country that has sat next door to Tesla's UAE and Saudi operations without its own official sales channel.
What is confirmed so far
According to EVwire, which said it was first to report the update, Tesla has already posted three full-time Muscat roles on its careers site under Sales & Customer Support: Store Manager, Sales Advisor, and Customer Experience Specialist, Sales. Trzpis framed them as the initial openings, so service and charging jobs may follow. A Store Manager listing is the strongest hint yet that Muscat will get a physical Tesla store rather than only an online configurator, though Tesla has not published a store address, opening date or which models will go on sale first.
Tesla has not issued a corporate press release on Oman. Sawyer Merritt amplified the EVwire report on X the same day. When we checked Tesla's public careers search for Muscat, the listings were not visible to our automated fetch, so readers should treat the job board as something EVwire reported rather than a page we re-confirmed live.
Where Oman sits in Tesla's Gulf map
Oman is a Gulf Cooperation Council member on the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, bordering the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. EVwire notes that Tesla's regional lineup already includes the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Israel. Musk floated Oman as a follow-on market as far back as Tesla's 2017 UAE launch; the country never got an official store while neighbors did.
The nearest large build-out is Saudi Arabia. Tesla's own press materials, carried by Zawya, say it launched in the kingdom on April 10, 2025, opened its first centre in Riyadh on June 26, 2025, and later a second centre in Jeddah. The same materials say the Saudi Supercharger network then spanned four cities with 48 stalls. EVwire separately reported that Supercharger for Business — Tesla's host-and-operate product for companies — is already live in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan. Oman already has a thin Tesla-related charging footprint: EVwire says Majid Al Futtaim put four EV chargers at City Centre Muscat in 2018 in a collaboration with Tesla, which is not the same as a Tesla-operated Supercharger network.
What it means for investors and buyers
A 2027 entry date means Oman will not move the delivery needle this year or next. It does show Tesla still filling in the GCC after Saudi Arabia's 2025 launch, rather than freezing international retail while it spends on Cybercab, Optimus and AI. For buyers in Muscat, the practical takeaway is hiring first, cars later: expect orders and a store sometime in 2027 if the LinkedIn timeline holds, with service and Superchargers still unannounced. Investors watching Gulf expansion should watch for service and charging postings next, then an official configurator go-live — the same sequence Tesla used in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
