The Tesla Model 3 was Spain's best-selling electric car in October, but BYD was the biggest electric brand.
Two counts
Somos Eléctricos counted the DGT's daily registration files up to Oct. 30 and published on Nov. 1. It found 17,250 battery-electric cars, with the Model 3 first on 1,206, ahead of the Kia EV3 and Geely E2. Teslant, using the same count, puts BYD on 2,260 and Tesla on 1,558.
The industry body ANFAC published its official figures on Nov. 2. Teslant reports that they put Tesla about 6% lower:
- Tesla: 1,459 registrations, against 393 in October 2025.
- Model 3: 1,150, still the top electric car.
- Model Y: 309, outside the electric top 10.
The market
ANFAC says passenger car sales rose 1.8% to 98,487 in October. Plug-in hybrids and electric cars together made up 31.5% of the market, almost 10 points more than a year ago.
From January to October, Teslant puts Tesla at 14,925 cars in Spain, up 17.6%. It says Model Y orders placed in early October were quoted delivery in January or February 2027.
