The Tesla clock bug in western Canada has a fix. On Nov. 1, cars in British Columbia moved their clocks back an hour even though the province no longer changes its clocks. Two software builds now appear to fix the problem.
2026.38.5.11
Drive Tesla Canada says its Model Y got 2026.38.5.11 on Monday afternoon and showed the correct time after installing it. The release notes mention only security fixes and improvements. The outlet says the bug hit cars without FSD on 2026.38.3.2 and 2026.38.5.1. It also says Alberta and Manitoba, as well as B.C., have adopted permanent time this year.
2026.38.6
Tesla North says readers report that 2026.38.6 also restores the correct time, including on a 2021 Model Y. Fleet trackers show that build began rolling out on Oct. 29. Its published release notes don't mention a clock or daylight saving fix either. Tesla has not commented publicly.
What owners can do
The car's Time menu has no manual time-zone setting, so a software update is the only fix. Owners who use scheduled charging should check which build they have and confirm the clock is right.
