Owners are reporting mixed results from Tesla's FSD (Supervised) v14.3.13, including a collision during an unprotected left turn. Tesla Oracle says more than 30% of the fleet is now on v14.3.13 or FSD v14.3 Lite and calls the build a regression from v14.3.12.
What owners report
- Left-turn crash. A Model Y with HW4 waited at a two-lane unprotected left turn, then turned when the near lane stopped to let it through. A fast car in the far lane hit the front of the Model Y. The owner wrote that FSD "doesn't consider the other lane it needs to pass."
- Squirrel. One owner posted video of the car not braking for a squirrel that darted out of deep shade. Tesla Oracle notes the animal was almost impossible to see.
- Late highway exits. Several users say the car still changes lanes late for exits. Some say this behaviour isn't new.
- Cybertruck. One owner lists regressions: no longer backing into the garage, phantom people in the driveway causing brake stabs, pulling over for construction vehicles, and using merge lanes to pass.
Not every report is negative. Tesla Oracle also shares a clip of v14.3.13 spotting a pickup with broken trailer lights in the dark and slowing for a construction zone.
What the update says it does
FSD Update's copy of the release notes lists an upgraded reinforcement-learning training stage and vision encoder. It also lists an AI compiler rewritten with MLIR, which Tesla says gives 20% faster reaction time, and better handling of emergency vehicles, school buses, small animals and complex traffic lights. Software 2026.38.5.11, first spotted on Oct. 24, kept the same FSD version and notes and added FSD v14.3 Lite for HW3 cars.
