Unitree Robotics unveiled the H2-X on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, a humanoid it markets in China as "Kung Fu Legend: Guardian" and pitches for security and rescue work. In a company video posted on X, the robot kicks a car door hard enough to dent it, lands a jump from a platform about 4 meters high, lifts the front of a car in a staged rescue and pushes a mannequin out of the path of an oncoming vehicle, Notebookcheck and the South China Morning Post reported.

What Unitree has and hasn't said

  • Runtime: up to about eight hours, Unitree says. Notebookcheck notes the figure applies to standing operation, not continuous walking or martial arts. Robots Daily points out the base H2 is rated for about three hours on a 0.972 kWh pack, and Unitree hasn't explained the difference or the test conditions.
  • Autonomy: not disclosed. The SCMP said Unitree did not confirm whether the moves were autonomous, remote-controlled or choreographed.
  • Price, full specs and ship date: none published. For reference, the standard H2 is 182 cm tall, about 70 kg, has 31 degrees of freedom and is listed at $29,900 (Notebookcheck).

What it means for Tesla

Unitree is one of the Chinese humanoid makers most often compared with Tesla's Optimus, and it keeps leaning on agility demos while Tesla focuses on factory work and its planned Optimus production line (see our Optimus tracker). Like most humanoid launch videos, including rivals such as OpenAI's planned robot (see our story), this one shows capability without showing how much of it is autonomous.
