SpaceX Super Intelligence, the AI company behind Grok, on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 introduced The X Subscription, a single plan that bundles Grok, Grok Bot, the Cursor coding app and X Premium. The company announced it on X at 4:08 p.m. PT and says the plan is open to new customers now and will reach everyone globally "over the next few days." It comes in five tiers, from a free plan to Ultra at $200 a month.

X Subscription plans and prices

  • Free ($0): daily access to Grok with limited chat and agent requests, a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents, and standard X.
  • Plus ($8/month): Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine and Build, Grok API access and Cursor, plus the X Premium checkmark, fewer timeline ads, creator tools and advanced analytics.
  • Premium ($30/month): four times Plus usage, adding Grok Bot, the latest Grok models, faster chat, AI image and video generation, Cursor cloud agents and automations, and ad-free scrolling on most of X. SpaceXSI says it bundles the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which cost $90 a month combined before.
  • Super ($100/month): 15 times Plus usage and priority model access at peak times.
  • Ultra ($200/month): 50 times Plus usage.

Prices on the pricing page exclude taxes such as VAT. Team plans get Premium, Super and Ultra at the same per-seat prices, with SSO, admin controls and consolidated billing.

How the shared usage pool works

Paid tiers share one pool of Grok model usage across the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X and Cursor. Within Grok, it covers Chat, Imagine, Voice and Bot, and the allowance refreshes weekly. SpaceXSI says every plan includes "at least twice as much coding usage with our models as the comparable Cursor plan." Third-party models are still available in Cursor on Premium and above, but they aren't included in the monthly price: they are billed separately at API list prices through top-ups.

If you already pay for SuperGrok, Cursor or X Premium

Nothing changes unless you choose to switch. Existing subscribers can keep their current plan and price, or move to The X Subscription and get a prorated refund for the old plan, the company says. The option is rolling out gradually and shows up in account billing settings, with limited-time switching offers. SpaceXSI also warns that it sells the plan only directly, through X Subscription Corp, and doesn't authorize resellers.

The AI Insider notes the bundle is a bet that one package can draw more paying users than any single product in a crowded paid-AI market where SpaceXSI competes with OpenAI and Anthropic.

What it means for Tesla owners

Grok is the same assistant that runs in Tesla cars; xAI says Grok Voice 3.0 already handles millions of cabin conversations a day (our Grok Voice 3.0 story). But neither the X Subscription announcement nor the pricing page mentions Tesla vehicles, and Tesla hasn't said whether the new plans change in-car Grok or its Premium Connectivity package. Treat it as a phone, desktop and X subscription for now.
