Xpeng will sell cars in South Korea. The company said Lee Man-sik will become managing director of Xpeng Motors Korea on Dec. 1, 2026. He will build its sales and service network and partnerships.
Who he is
Lee has more than 30 years in the car business. He joined Volvo Car Korea in 2003. Seoul Economic Daily says he spent 23 years there and played a key role as Volvo grew to about 15,000 sales a year in Korea.
Timing
Xpeng itself has not announced a launch date, a model line-up or details of local operations, CnEVPost reports. Seoul Economic Daily says Xpeng set up its Korean unit in Seoul in June last year and is targeting its first model in the first half of next year. That would make Xpeng the third Chinese car brand in Korea, after BYD and Zeekr.
