Xpeng has opened sales of its GX and G9L flagship SUVs in 11 countries each across the Middle East and Africa. Both were introduced at an event in Dubai on Nov. 2, which was also the GX's first launch outside China, CnEVPost reports. Pre-orders are open, but Xpeng did not give delivery dates.

Prices

  • GX Flagship Edition: AED 299,000 in the UAE (about $81,410, per CnEVPost). Jiemian puts this at more than 540,000 yuan.
  • G9L: pre-sale price from AED 259,000 in the UAE (more than 450,000 yuan, per Jiemian).

Markets and orders

Both models are on sale in the UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan and Nigeria. The GX is also launching in Egypt, and the G9L in Ghana. CnEVPost says the GX already has more than 4,000 orders across the region, including 800 in the UAE.

Both cars use Xpeng's extended-range technology for overseas markets. Over the next year, Xpeng plans to expand to more than 20 countries and regions in the Middle East and Africa, with more than 100 sales and service outlets, according to Jiemian (translated from Chinese).
