Yamaha has shown an electric NMAX. The NMAX E is positioned as a 125cc-equivalent (A1 licence) scooter, a step above the low-speed city e-scooters that make up most of Yamaha's electric range.
Specs
Yamaha's new compact eAxle drives the rear wheel by belt. Electrek says the motor makes 6.7 kW nominal and 7.5 kW peak, with 33.3 Nm of torque. Yamaha has not published a top speed.
The 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery is fixed, not removable, and mounted low in the frame. Range is up to 104 km on the WMTC Class 1 cycle. An 800 W onboard charger works from a household socket or a Type 2 AC public charger; a full charge takes about 5.5 hours.
Autocar India says it has a 5-inch TFT display, three riding modes, traction control, a reverse function and a smart key, and rides on 13-inch wheels.
Sister model
Yamaha also showed the Xenter E with the same motor and battery and a claimed 108 km of range. Autocar India says both go on sale in spring 2027.
