AGCO, the maker of Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra farm equipment, will pilot Agility Robotics' Digit humanoid robot at its factory in Hesston, Kansas, starting in 2027. The companies announced the commercial agreement on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026.
What Digit will do
Digit will initially handle parts sorting and stacking and the placement of totes for storage in assembly and production operations, according to the joint release. The goal is to take repetitive and physically demanding tasks off workers. Those are aims for the pilot, not results, as Humanoids Daily points out.
"This strategic relationship views humanoid robotics and AI as essential 'teammates' in building flexible, intelligent factories," said Thomas Enghof, AGCO's director of manufacturing technology.
