A humanoid robot company is now publicly traded in the US. Agility Robotics began trading on Nasdaq on Thursday under the ticker AGLT after completing its merger with SPAC Churchill Capital Corp XI, The Robot Report says. The stock opened at $11.26, above the $10 deal price, and was at $10.30 at press time.
Agility calls itself the first US-listed pure-play humanoid robotics company with active commercial deployments. It says the deal and related financing raised about $465 million in gross capital, and that it has more than $300 million in multi-year orders for Digit 5. The Robot Report says the total includes about $164 million from Churchill's trust after redemptions and a $201 million PIPE led by Foxconn.
«AI is moving beyond the digital world and into the physical world,» CEO Peggy Johnson said. Shareholders approved the deal on November 2 and it closed on November 4.
