Tesla's Optimus has another factory rival. Xiaomi released footage on November 3 of its humanoid robots working a full 8-hour shift at the center console side-cover sorting station in its EV factory, as the company picked up awards at the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen.
Xiaomi says the robot covered a full day of production needs at the station, detecting and correcting anomalies on its own and coordinating with the line's control system. The Robot Daily reports it is the company's second-generation CyberOne, and that this follows a March trial in which a humanoid installed self-tapping nuts for three hours at a 90.2% success rate, rising to 98% by July.
Electrek cautions that the video is sped up and that Xiaomi did not say how many parts were sorted, what the success rate was over the shift, or how often humans stepped in.
