Getting Apple's new Siri is now mostly instant. Apple's support document for Siri AI says that after users opt in, the assistant «will begin to download automatically.» It adds: «During time of high demand, you might be added to a waitlist first, and wait times can vary.»
MacRumors reports that the document previously said enabling Siri AI would add users to a waitlist. It says the page was updated on November 2. Siri AI launched in September and is still in beta on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Vision Pro.
To turn it on, go to Settings, then Siri, then Try Siri AI (Beta), Apple says. On iPhone it requires iOS 27 and an iPhone 15 Pro model or later, an iPhone 16 model or later, iPhone Duo or iPhone Air. The device language and Siri language must match a supported language, and the Apple Account must be in an eligible region. Apple describes Siri AI as an entirely new version of Siri that understands personal context across messages, email and photos, and can answer questions about what's on screen.
