Another carmaker is selling a humanoid robot, this time for the living room. AiMOGA Robotics, the embodied-AI brand of Chinese automaker Chery, opened global pre-orders for Mobo, its first home companion robot, at a launch event in Wuhu, Anhui province, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, according to Chery's announcement and Gasgoo. Neither announcement gave a price or delivery date.
What Mobo is
- Height of 0.9 meters and 22 degrees of freedom for walking and other body movements (Gasgoo, citing AiMOGA).
- Runs AiMOGA's MoAgent agent system to break down long tasks, with spatial awareness, long-term memory and edge-cloud processing; it recognizes family members via FaceID and supports more than 20 languages.
- Aimed at elderly care and companionship, children's companionship and whole-family use, including reminders, stories and English-language interaction for kids.
- AiMOGA said Mobo can handle 16 tasks in parallel and respond to interruptions in under 0.2 seconds.
Chery's robot business
AiMOGA said Mobo has drawn interest from more than 10,000 prospective users since its World Robot Conference debut in August, and named 35 early adopters as its first experience ambassadors. Its cumulative commercial deliveries have passed 3,000 robots, with business in more than 60 countries and regions, and it plans an initial network of 300 experience centers worldwide. Chery says AiMOGA reuses 100% of its automotive supply chain and 70% of its R&D technologies.
Why it matters for Tesla watchers
Tesla said the same day that Optimus production has begun in Fremont. Chery's pitch, like Tesla's, is that car manufacturing know-how carries over to robots. See also: Unitree's H2-X.
