Meta's video editing app Edits is now on the desktop. Instagram launched Edits for Mac, a move TechCrunch describes as a direct challenge to ByteDance's CapCut, which has had a desktop version since 2021.
The Mac app includes a multi-track timeline, keyframes and audio waveforms, plus color tools such as wheels, curves, log support and LUTs, 9to5Mac reports. Videos export in 4K without a watermark and can be published directly to Instagram.
Brett Westervelt, head of Edits, said the app will receive weekly updates, according to TechCrunch.
