Starlink's earliest customers are getting new hardware. A new Starlink support page says: «Eligible customers who were among the first to connect with Starlink, and who are still using a first-generation kit, can receive a new Standard kit at no cost.»
The replacement is the Standard 4X dish, along with a Router 3, power supply, cables and a mount, PCMag reports, and subscribers can choose free installation. Eligibility is by invitation: Starlink says eligible customers will receive an email.
Drive Tesla Canada notes the original circular dish dates back to 2020. The old kit is deactivated when the new one is activated or 14 days after delivery, whichever comes first, and SpaceX does not require it to be returned.
