The Model Y went from France's best-selling car to eighth among EVs in a month. It registered 1,748 cars in October after more than 8,000 in September, Bevolt reports. That was still up 5.3% from 1,660 a year earlier.
Tesla as a brand grew 35.3% year on year, according to carmakers' association PFA. Teslant, working from PFA's model tables, puts the Model 3 at 662, so most of the growth came from that car, which does not qualify for France's EV bonus.
France registered about 149,340 new cars in October, up 7%, and battery-electric models took 41.5%, just under September's record. Renault's new Twingo led EVs with 4,747, ahead of the Renault 5 at 4,666, the Peugeot e-208 at 3,221 and the Renault Scénic at 3,037, per Bevolt.
The slide fits Tesla's usual pattern. It bunches deliveries into the last month of each quarter, so the first month is typically far weaker.
