The mix
- Model Y: 631 (about 52%)
- Cybercab: 573 (about 48%)
Four days earlier, on Oct. 27, Texas DMV records showed 1,051 authorized Tesla vehicles, with Cybercabs ahead of Model Ys for the first time at 544 to 507. The new batch puts Model Y back in front.
How Tesla compares in Texas
- Waymo: 1,259
- Tesla: 1,204
- Avride: 344

What the count does not show
Both reports note that registrations are not the same as cars carrying riders. The records list VINs on the state books, not which city a car runs in or how many trips it makes. Tesla runs Robotaxi service in Austin, Dallas and Houston.
