Tesla Malaysia is taking the Cybercab on a tour of four shopping malls. The two-seat robotaxi, which has no steering wheel or pedals, is on display through Nov. 22, Paul Tan reported.

Where to see it

  • Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur: Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, Centre Court, ground floor, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunway Square Mall, Selangor: Nov. 3 to 9.
  • Pavilion Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur: Nov. 10 to 11.
  • Gurney Plaza, Penang: Nov. 13 to 22.

Tesla advisors run 15-minute guided walkthroughs. Visitors who complete one, or a test drive, get a Cybercab mystery gift while stocks last. Tesla asks visitors to RSVP on its website.

Look, don't ride

Lowyat.NET, which saw the car at the preview, said the seats have no buttons or levers. They are adjusted from the center screen, the only part of the cabin that feels like a normal Tesla. Paul Tan noted that Malaysia has no autonomous-driving rules yet, so the Cybercab cannot carry riders there.

More Superchargers

At the preview, Tesla said it runs 21 Supercharger stations with 92 stalls in Malaysia, up from 15 stations and 68 stalls a year ago, Drive Tesla Canada reported, citing Paul Tan. Six more are due by year-end in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Seremban and Penang. Tesla also has 18 destination-charging sites with 78 chargers. Destination charging there has been paid since July.
