BYD's Fang Cheng Bao brand has passed 600,000 cumulative sales. It announced the milestone on Weibo on Sunday, Nov. 1, without giving an October sales figure or a breakdown by model, CnEVPost reported.
How it got there
- Cumulative sales stood at 582,173 at the end of September, according to CnEVPost's data.
- The brand sold 285,436 vehicles in the first nine months of 2026, up 147.53% from a year earlier. That is already more than the 234,637 it sold in all of 2025.
- The Tai 7 (spelled Ti 7 in some English coverage) passed 300,000 sales in October. CarNewsChina says that is about half of the brand's total.
The delivery problem
General manager Xiong Tianbo said the team's main focus in October was delivering the Formula S series, but the month's total still fell short of expectations. CarNewsChina said she put the miss down to difficulties ramping up production of the new product lines. The Formula S sedan and Formula S GT shooting brake went on sale on Sept. 16 at 189,900 yuan and 219,900 yuan to start. Xiong did not give October Formula delivery numbers or say what the target had been. She said the brand will push to raise production in November to cut waiting times.
What comes next
Tai 9 display cars started reaching Chinese showrooms this week, ahead of a launch after Nov. 15. CarNewsChina describes the six-seat plug-in hybrid as 5,270 mm long, with a 66.48 kWh Blade battery, a claimed 310 km of electric range under WLTC, and an expected price of 400,000 to 500,000 yuan. Both outlets say the Shark pickup is due in late November or December. For the rest of BYD's month, see our BYD October sales story.
